Welcome to your new home on the
web.
Union Fire Web Design is company run by an
IAFF
Union Fire Fighter, who decided to start a
business of creating web sites for Fire Fighter
Unions. Initially, Union Fire Web Design
was started by two Union Fire Fighters.
Since that time, the company has become a sole
proprietorship. So, when you see
"firefighters, we, and our" in the advertising
or the web site,
it refers to just one
individual now. My name is Jeff Boetto, and I am
a Captain/paramedic with the Evanston Fire
Fighters Association Local #742 and an
Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois Honor Guard
Member. I take great pride in offering
affordable web hosting for Union departments,
(check out
Current Sites) as
well as members who have other companies they
would like to have on the web. Union Fire
Web Design is also an affordable solution to any
business looking for hosting on the web.
Check out the
Non-Fire Sites
section to see what
other companies have chosen
to be hosted by Union Fire Web Design.
Please look through the web site and contact
me for an evaluation of your needs. Union
Fire Web Design hosting is one of the
lowest around starting at $120.00 a year!
Features such as domain name ($9.99/yr.), set up
($250.00 one time), design, e-mail accounts or
e-mail forwarding, and
maintenance ($120.00/yr.) of
your site will be just $379.99 for the first
year, and $249.99 every year after. I am
proud to offer this service to my Brothers and
Sisters, and
I look forward to taking care
of the needs of your Local on the World Wide
Web!
As a Union Member, I understand that the dues money can be spread
thin by negotiations, arbitrations, and other costs. That is
why Union Fire Web Design is here as an affordable
means to
communicate on the internet. Many communities have a "fire
department web site." However, they are not representative of
what your membership consists of. You may have meetings, union
fundraisers, etc. that your town will not post on the web for you.
Also, I can post your contract online. That will
allow for fewer phone calls from locals looking for your language
during their contract negotiations. This also allows members of your
local access to answer questions when a contract is not immediately
available to refer to.
Union Fire Web Design is dedicated to the support of our fellow
IAFF Brothers and Sisters. That is why I decided to donate 5%
of any profit made to the IAFF FirePac. It is this commitment to the IAFF that I will
extend to your Local as well. When we look to have our
Conventions hosted we seek a Union Hotel. When we have fliers
printed, we seek a Union Printer. When you look to have a web
site, why not seek a Union Web Developer who is as committed to your
union as your local members are? That was the question I asked
when creating this web site. I hope that you choose to have
the Union Fire Web Logo added to
your Local's web site.

Current News and Events

The International Association of Fire
Fighters Media Awards Contest, conducted
annually, honors reporting
and photography that best portray the professional and dangerous
work of fire fighters and emergency medical personnel in the United
States and Canada.
Valor and loss were common themes in
the 2008 Media Awards Contest, along with the all-in-a-day’s-work
acts of heroism that typify professional fire fighters and
paramedics. Over print, broadcast and the Internet, these stories
come to life from many perspectives.
In addition, these awards recognize
outstanding work by IAFF affiliates in communicating with their
members and generating public awareness for fire fighters in their
respective communities. The stories and photos entered also bring to
light important issues that affect the welfare of fire fighters
throughout North America.
More than 277 entries were
submitted in the 2008 Media Awards Contest.

I am very honored and pleased to announce that our AFFI web site was
recognized by the IAFF with the 2008 Media Awards for best Affiliate
Site. When I became the web master for our great Association, I
made a promise to keep our members up to date on the issues that
affected us, updates on local battles, making negotiations faster
with on-line contracts, and much more. I am very pleased with the
direction the AFFI has taken giving me latitude to work hard for
each of you to be informed as fast as possible when YOU need the
information. We are constantly meeting to bring even more services
to you with an upcoming on-line store that I promise will be up one
of these days! You can now pay for conferences, seminar's, and as
you found out at the last convention, pay with credit cards for
merchandise. I hope to continue to keep you the most informed State
Association in the United States and Canada!
Fraternally,
Jeffrey Boetto
AFFI Web Master
I would like to welcome
MABAS
Division 11 to Union Fire Web Design. MABAS is
the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System, comprised of fire departments who
collectively work together to respond to incidents that can not be
handled alone. One of the greatest examples of how well the
MABAS system works was during the Hurricane Katrina response to New
Orleans, when Illinois sent the largest statewide responses, as well
as most organized. My own local is a member of MABAS Division
3, and the experiences I have had training with MABAS has been
outstanding.
It gives me great pride to have been selected as the
Associated
Fire Fighters of Illinois web master. The site
is very useful to our Brothers and Sisters in Illinois, with many
new features including Contracts from over 100 Illinois Locals.
This will save Negotiation teams time and money when they need
comparable contracts. I began
this position in August of 2007. I give the AFFI the same
pride and dedication that I have delivered to each of the locals I
currently host.
Please
check out the
Democratic Organization of Troy Township
web site. It is my honor to bring this organization to
the web, as I am the Vice-Chairman of this great group of proud
Democrats. I am also a Troy Township Democratic Precinct
Committeeman for the 19th District in Troy Township, as well as
being the Vice Chairman.
I am also proud to bring you a wonderful place to dine in the Crest
Hill area called
Merichka's! If you own a RV and are into camping, or are looking to purchase
one,
Midwest Finest RV is a great place with
outstanding customer service. Midwest Finest RV is partially
owned by a fellow IAFF Illinois Fire Fighter, so please show your
support to a fellow Brother if you are looking for a RV or need
service for your RV.
I would love to see more Locals choose Union
Fire Web Design to be their host on the web. As you can see
from the client list, I serve more than just Union Fire Departments.
If you have a need for a web site, send an
e-mail
and I would be happy to send you a quote.

Before graduating from Southern Illinois University
with a B.S. in Fire Science Management, I
first attended Northern
Illinois University where I was a member of Phi Kappa Theta
Fraternity.
I wanted to dedicate the section of my web site to
those who were killed on February 14, 2008 with the memorial ribbon
below. May God Bless each of the victims, their families, the
students and faculty, as well as my Brother's and Sister's who
responded to this horrific tragedy from the DeKalb Fire Department,
as well as the other first responders. We have seen horrific
scenes
from all over the country from grade schools to universities,
but like you hear so many times,
you never expect it to be so close
to home.

You
can contact me by e-mail at FyrEater21@aol.com.
*Currently, due to the size of the
company and the inability to hold two union cards, I do not have any
GCIU web designers. However, all of my printed materials
are currently handled by a Union Printer with the GCIU.
